Lancaster is very bad I moved here from Sherman Oaks thinking it would be a very nice place but no. There are alot of ugly buildings and alot street violence. I live in a nice neighborhood but the other day there was a riot here. It's very scary here and you can't go out at night walking alone. Gangs and violence are rising to the skies and it really sucks here. I'm moving back to the valley as soon as i can. If you want to move here DON'T Im telling you now and you will regret it

Plamdale and Lancaster are the same. Anyone thinking of moving to this area needs to take a drive around the Palmdale Lancaster area to see what the area is made up of first. After you see whats on the streets you may change your mind about moving here, Unless you are one of them.

I concur. I'd rather deal with the gang bangers here in the SF Valley and commute only twelve miles to work, rather than move out there and stretch the commute to forty-five miles or more.

Before moving to an area, you should not only check it out on a weekend day, but also on weekend nights, week nights, etc. to see how the neighborhood is. Sometimes it's only quiet during the day because the party animals and drug addicts are sleeping!

I would never had left Sherman Oaks!!! One of the best communities within the city to any suburban city, Sherman Oaks as well as the rest of southern Valley have no many gang problems, are centrally located between the Valley, the Hills and the Westside and Downtown and have many services as shops, boutiques, medical services....a miles around your home. The problem the expensive is to get a good house there.

If anyone is considering moving to Palmdale/Lancaster You should move on the west side. I've lived in Palmdale for 13 years (never been raped, stabbed, shot, robbed and yup I am still alive) I moved to Northridge and live there for 4 years. I am currently living in Lancaster it will almost a year in October. No where is perfect. Drive around and see what areas you consider are nice, some people are more tolerable then others.

You definately want to be on the westside in either Palmdale or Lancaster.

I lived in Lancaster for over 9 years and I'll say I HATED IT and I DETEST that place!!! I now live in San Diego and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Schools are bad there and the best high school, Quartz Hill High, is even lower than the state achievement gap. The people there are rude because there is a lot of Section 8 housing, and hate crime between Latinos and African Americans dominates here. Please do yourselves a favor and go live in a nicer place even if it cost a lot because it will be well worth it!
