Going back to L.A.
Hey everyone...
I've recently been checking this site out a lot & decided to join... so here I am, posting a thread.
I'm currently a high school senior in St. George, Utah and am about half-way through the year. After we graduate, a few friends and I were planning to move back out to Southern California. (I'm originally from Bellflower). But now, there's been a change of plans and now we're thinking Vegas, which is just an hour and a half down the road. I like Vegas and everything, but I don't know how I feel about living there. I pretty much spend all of my Summers down there, so it's nothing special to me. Anyways... I'm going into the Cosmetology career and have found the perfect school I'd like to go to (Paul Mitchell). There's one here, but not in Vegas , and staying here is just not in the cards for me. I've lived here since I was 3, but don't consider it my home. The Los Angeles area will always be home to me, as pretty much all my family lives out there & just being there makes me feel right at home. So, I've been thinking about just maybe heading out to L.A. on my own. I mean, I won't necessarily be alone, having family & friends out there and what not... but moving out there by myself. I feel bad about maybe screwing up the plans between my friends and I, but this is something I really want to do.
Here are the cities that Paul Mitchell has schools in, in the SoCal area:
Coasta Mesa
San Diego
Santa Barbara
Sherman Oaks
Alhambra
Temecula
So, what I'm asking is, if I do decide to go out there, what are some good, resonably priced areas around these cities? I'm thinking more the L.A. area, rather then the Coasta Mesa/San Diego area. Any info you have helps!
Thanks.

If you have preconceived notions of a given area, why even pose the question?

Alhambra (east LA) or Sherman Oaks are the only LA choices. The rest are OC or further...

If money is really tight, Temecula is really cheap, very safe, but probably the least exciting when you are 18. If money is less of an issue, I would look at Sherman Oaks or Alhambra. Those areas offer you proximity to the social scene in LA and at 18, that may be a big factor in deciding where you want to live.

that's not it at all. I do like that area, but I'm just saying if I can find a place with a reasonable price, I'm all for Sherman Oaks.

Yeah, I know that. I was just saying cities in LA county around those areas because I know Sherman Oaks is a bit pricy.
