Isn't there anybody taking care of these matters in LA?

Yes, the County AG Commissioner, the Urban Wildlife Management Association, City Park Rangers, and private Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators all play a part in educating the public about protecting people and pets and keeping coyotes wild, and also in handling severe threats to the community. However, since we are on the front line, so to speak, it is up to us to dispose of our trash properly and to protect our pets.

I have seen a coyote near my grandma's house at 6AM just walking in the street in Woodland Hills. Where I live (inland San Diego) I often see them right behind my fence, as we live right near a ravine.
