Long Beach is okay. There are good parts and there are bad parts. The bad parts are located within the central areas next to Signal Hill or North Long Beach. The good areas are downtown, Naples, Belmont Shore, Los Altos, the area east of the traffic circle, Bixby Hill, California Heights and the Wighley area. I recommend the eastside, predominantly middle class and upper class area.

Long Beach is a big area... you'll need to be a little more specific about the areas you are looking at.

Thank You! I am looking at a job where I would be working in El Segundo some of the time and in Cypress. It seems that both of those locations should be commute-able from Long Beach. Does that sound right?

All of the LA area has a gang problem. You can find gang grafitti from Burbank all the way down to Laguna. Gang members move to new communities, go car shopping or theiving in other communities visit girlfriends etcetc. If you dont wear a blue or red dorag bump OG tunes out of your hoopty, smoke, sell, slang crack or maddog homies as you creep through the hood yo dont have nothing to worry about.
