Good place to live up to 1 hour from Hollywood?
Hello,
I am looking for a good, affordable place around Hollywood. Can be up to one hour away from it.
Thank you

I live in Oxnard and can be in the area in an hour. Then again I don't travel during rush hour. Rents in Oxnard are in the $1,000 range. Home prices are as low as $150,000 for a condo and $200,000 for a 3 bed 2 bath fixer.

Try North Hollywood and Studio City. Those would be good for you.

Yes, both of these are good choices. Studio City is prettier, but North Hollywood is "trying" to come up. Also, Miracle Mile and Westwood are EXCELLENT choices if you have money to spend.

North Hollywood is good. Especially if you live in the area near the metro which gives you Red Line(subway) access to much of the actual Hollywood area.
North Hollywood is a community in the San Fernando Valley that isn't connected in any way to Hollywood itself, but it's probably just 30 mins from actual Hollywood.
I don't know what you consider affordable, but I would consider the area east of Hollywood as well.

within an hour in really really bad traffic and so to be sure you make it to work ? on time I would suggest any of the Foothill Communities of La Canada, La Crescenta, Tujunga, Sunland.
There are a lot of TV /Movie/Music industry people here who work in Hollywood and love the quiet , serenity, away from LA feel of the area.
Good Luck

Took the words right out of my mouth...I'd go for Burbank if I were you. Oxnard is much further than an hour I'd say.
