Yes, there are. In Chinatown, Koreatown, Hollywood, the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys, Long Beach, Carson, and Palms.

Can't help you here, except I remember when some Vietnamese moved into my otherwise quiet and safe West LA neighborhood in the late '70s when I was a teenager and totally disrupted the neighborhood with open prostitution, drug sales, broken down cars on the lawn, and general havoc. Everyone was happy when they moved out of the neighborhood to Brentwood. (And no I am NOT saying that they were representative of all Vietnamese! There is good and bad in every group!)

Go to LAPD's website. Look at a map of the divisions. Contact the specific divisions that were mentioned previously and ask them about their Asian gang problem. They definitely exist in Los Angeles!
Stay safe.

Also remember Asian gangs are not as territorial compared to other ethnic gangs. They tend not to tie themselves to a defined neighborhood. They operate a lot differently. They can be very active in a community with very little evidence on the surface.

Yes Asian gangs are hard to spot, they don't tag and make the neighborhood a mess. It seems they tend to operate without making their presence felt within a community. Unlike latino gangs which try to terrorize their community. Anyhow all gangs are bad news, don't try to look for them.
