Hi... planning a move to L.A. for work within a year. I have been there many times, and I think I want to live in West Hollywood. Would you consider it a safe location? I would be taking the Metro a LOT and don't want to be walking alone at night to/from the stop.

Are there other any hip, young, safe neighborhoods not too far from LAX I could also look at?

I will also be traveling a lot, so I would need to get to LAX pretty easily.

I'm a 27 year old straight female, salon professional, and gay-friendly

Thanks!
Julie

WeHo is not very close to any metro stations. Look at Los Feliz, Hollywood, even Chinatown

West Hollywood is very expensive w/ good bus service. The "hip" areas around LAX [El Segundo\ Manhattan Beach] are also expensive. Both regions are safe but WeHo has alot of late-night loud party-goers.
