Its the Bostonians who seem to be more apt to move away from their Boston hometown to much more beautiful LA. But you cant blame them. I meet so many people who moved away from Boston to be in my hometown. Must be something seriously wrong with that place to make everyone want to move here.
The problem is the weather (horrible) which in turn makes everybody crabby.

I'm sure there are sports bars where Yankee fans congregate but that doesn't necessarily mean they are all New Yorkers. Don't think the Knicks have much of a following out here [hey, they don't have much of a following even in NYC

LA delicatessens & Jewish neighborhoods would probably have a fair number of New Yorkers. Lots of former New York folk in the entertainment industry so maybe West Hollywood\ Beverly Hills would be another place to look.
