Hey so I live in Manhattan and have a job but am being let go. I see this as an opportunity for me to get out of the city and move to california. you see i've lived in manhattan for my entire life and while i've traveled plenty (europe, south america, USA), i really feel that things come too easy for me in new york and i want to be challenged. i think this will motivate me to be the successful entrepreneur that I have wanted to be for most of my adult life. I'm 23 by the way. So say i've got like $20k and about $1k per month allowance, where in cali can I live? I want to be in a place where i can start different businesses, potentially fashion or tourist related pending on what the city offers. i can buy a car for like $3k that i'm cool with and am willing to live with roomates in regular living conditions (nothing special, nothing disgusting). i want to be in a place where there is great weather and an abundance of attractive girls in their early to mid 20s. Any suggestions for me?

I'm pretty sure you could move to LA (my city). You can't live here for $1k a month, but your savings might tide you over. Yeah, you would need a car. Your $3k might buy you a basic used car.

We have got a whole lot of great looking girls here in California! Our chicks are more casual here so you can forget about the fancy NY chicks and their outfits, but if you can get into casual you'll find our LA chicks a lot more comfortable and easy going.

Just one thing, please don't tell anybody how great New York is. It's a social faux pas here in Los Angeles. Forget about back there and out here. Focus on your new life and don't worry about what the people in NY think.

Come on out! But please, have a good occupation and good prospects or you will just spend your $20K and just have to go back home. (You didn't state what your occupation.)

But really, we're happy to have New Yorkers, as long as they don't tell us that New York is better than Los Angeles!
