are you kidding me? is this a real post?

if i believed everything about LA i saw on tv i would never leave the house. forget the low crime rate....and just hide. how about walk around LA before you come to a forum and talk about things you are woefully ignorant of? a little bit of tv is a dangerous thing.

Some people don't want to get involved because they believe it's none of their business. Maybe the man fighting with a woman is a domestic dispute. Some people are scared to get involved.

I think of gang members simply as feral humans...
Thank you!! This is what i'm talking about. If there's 1000's of people milling around it does not mean theyre going to do anything. Typically the more people around, the less likely anyone will help. I've had to do research assignments on McArthur Park and all of my friends tell me to pack my bullet proof vest and they're from bad areas of East L.A.

This stinks like just another L.A. bashing thread posted by some hater, outsider or both, who will likely deny it as an alibi. And even if not, since when does the Discovery channel claim to be experts on urban life in Los Angeles, New York or any major metropolitan area? Like the rest of the media, they're about sensationalized ratings more than facts. Think for yourself.

Once upon a time it was total anarchy - very blatant and open drug dealing etc but the area has cleaned up a lot. Gentrification and the decline of crack both played a part I am sure.
