When I was out there a couple months ago a 5 year old was shot in the chest and died because of a driveby gang related in Echo Park, sorry I wouldn't want to live anywhere near any type of gang Moderator cut: activity. Also rampart is home of MS-13 so I know there are plenty of rough parts in the area.

Echo Park is in Northeast Division, not Rampart Division.

I am Echo Park-adjacent and it is a fine, if somewhat gritty, neighborhood.

You could name just about any area in L.A. and someone on this board would tell you (honestly) that they knew of a killing there and that it's total gangland (conjecture) and that you should not even consider living there.

I sometimes think it would be helpful if folks stated where they themselves live when commenting on other parts of the city to let others know their perspective.
