Some old numbers like 4-5 years ago were something like 900,000 I think. There may be less by now.

From census.gov, for the whole of LA County. I get 901,000 black non-Latinos out of 9,519,000 in 2000, and 848,000 black non-Latinos out of 9,879,000 in 2007, for a loss of 53,000.
White non-Latino has gone from 2,960,000 to 2,849,000 from 2000 to 2007, for a loss of 110,000.
Asian non-Latino from 1,125,000 to 1,276,000 for a gain of 151,000.
Hispanic or Latino of any race from 4,242,000 to 4,677,000 for a gain of 435,000.

Yes, there are still still a lot of blacks in LA except the ones I've known or grew up with. They all moved to the good ol' South.
I wonder if black population in LA will increase again.

As long as there are jobs to sustain a middle class population of any race, they'll be there.
The black population can increase again as long as there's some sort of employment to sustain them. However, L.A. (like other big cities) is bleeding it's middle class (not only black) population due to a variety of factors.

Maybe it's because of the fading economy. Do you think white flight will occur again?
