Maybe moving from ATL to Ponoma to Attend Cal Poly Ponoma wanting to know if there are any cheap Studio or 1 bedroom apartments around Ponoma or that area (I know nothing about LA). And is Ponoma a good place to live. High crime is not really a problem for me growing up in the south I know that crime statistics dont always tell the truth about a area.

looking for under 950

Welcome to the Cal Poly family. As a grad, I eill give you this advice: Do not move to Pomona. Try student housing or move to West Covina (about 10 minutes from campus). The parts of Pomona that are cheap are very bad areas and not safe. There are lots of places in West Covina for under $950.

and how about areas around San Dimas and Glendora? I would agree with you, CE, stay away from Pomona. In fact, for some reason I never think of Cal Poly as being in Pomona, I always think San Dimas. Hubby was raised in Glendora, we lived there before leaving Cal..I don't know why the Pomona thing just never enters my mind...

Ditto on the San Dimas connection. You can see the Cal Poly campus (whatever that triangle-shaped building is called...) on the 57 and 10 freeways (used to go to ONT a lot from OC) but all freeway exits around the area say "San Dimas"
