Default Inglewood/ random

Hey everyone, so this is my situation. I am a young hispanic/white male living in Inglewood. I went to Chadwick School in Palos Verdes on a scholarship and now go to College in Texas. Every time I come back from school, I wonder if this is the best place for my parents to live. They own a 2 house property and the price has fluctuated with time, as high as 770,000 to now 400,000. Is it realistic to think that when the economy heals they will be able to sell this place and relocate/retire in a better city? Like a Torrance,El Segundo kind of deal? It's been eating at me for a while. I just want the best for them. My block is really beautiful, beautiful houses, well kept lawns. But down the street, where it somehow instantly looks worse, a murder took place the night I returned. I just don't know anymore..

If you're in Morningside Park area, especially East of Crenshaw and North of Arbor Vitae, that neighborhood has held its value through thick and thin.

If you are really worried, why don't you suggest they move to TX with you? Even in a down market, their house could fetch enough to afford a much better neighborhood in any of a number of cities in TX. I don't think you should realistically expect to see $700K home value in Inglewood ever again...not if people have learned their lesson from the most recent bubble/crash, that is.

The major cities in Texas (Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston) have extremely high crime rates, more so than Los Angeles.
