Hello, I need to drive from San Diego to Woodland Hills tomorrow and need to be in Woodland Hills by 11:45am.
What is the best route to take? I tried using googlemaps/mapquest and they all tell me to take the 5 to the 405, but maybe it's better to take 15 and cut across using something else?
No clue how long this will take...
What time should I leave and which route do I take?

thanks soooo much!!

I would still do 5 to 405 and not 5 to 101 once in the LA area. I-5 is pretty slow in the south and east sides of LA county. If you leave SD around 8 you'd get into the south LA/Orange county area around 930 assuming the traffic is moderate in SD and you can't go 70 MPH. Once in the LA area around 930 the traffic in LA will be mellowing out a little bit but it will still be slow especially near LAX. I can't imagine you would be late but you could be a bit early. Tune in the traffic reports on 980 AM and 1070 AM and consider adjusting your route (possibly using the the 710, 110, 91, 105 and/or 101) if there is an accident on your original route. I did Huntington Beach to Thousand Oaks for several months and I often needed to take different routes depending on conditions.

Default Did This Drive Every Weekend

Plan on it taking you 2.5-3hrs!

leave 3hrs early if u want to be super careful.

I usually go 5n-405n-101n

I did this drive every weekend as I went to school in san diego family in w.h.

at 10p.m. you can do it in 2hr 15min.
