Default How often do you refer the Valley as North Los Angeles?

Let's see, Los Angeles consist of several geographical areas. West Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and South Los Angeles. Three of those regions are near the city limits, so is the Valley. Is it necessary to refer the Valley as "North Los Angeles"?

I've never heard of the San Fernando Valley referred to as North Los Angeles. Much of the SFV is in the City Limits of Los Angeles.

I'm never heard it called that before. There's North Hollywood up there, but never North Los Angeles.

What is considered north LA is Cypress Pk\ Mt Washington\ Eagle Rock\ Highland Pk but the terminology isn't used for some reason The San Fernando valley is actually more northwest-west of the Los Angeles basin and a distinct geographic area. Also "the valley" could mean the San Gabriel valley [just a large as the SFV] & even the Santa Clarita valley in north LA county.

I've heard of Northeast Los Angeles, but I've never even heard the term North Los Angeles. The term itself sounds really weird to me.

Never heard the Santa Clarita valley referred to as "The Valley"...usually just "Santa Clarita" or "Valencia" (it's marginally a valley.) Also, rarely hear San Gabriel Valley referred to as "The Valley", though I have heard residents call it that sometimes (a very substantial valley.) May be because I live in North Hollywood, though. I think popular culture has dubbed the San Fernando Valley "The Valley" and that's what I hear everyone in Los Angeles refer to it as. Never heard it called North L.A. It is geographically distinct and the part of Los Angeles in the Valley has tried on several occasions to separate from the city and form it's own.
