Default Wages in LA for drafters

After reading that many construction workers earn 20-30 bucks an hour in LA, I'm a little curious. Does anyone know anything about what drafters for structural engineers make? It's what I do, and I have been at it for 10 years and have an Associate's degree in the field. I make about 55k in the Springs and I am curious as to the wages out in LA.
Also, are temp agencies big out there? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Not sure how much they make with an Associates degree. You may want to get your Bachelors degree. Is your AS degree in Drafting? with a BS in Civil Engineering, something that I know a little about, you could bring in $80,000 a year or more. Depends on your background though. The economy isn't what it used to be though, so finding employment may be an issue. You also need to realize that the contractors are only paid when a project is underway. If no one is building then no one makes a dime. Something else to think about is that with many in the industry looking for work builders, developers and others that have projects can pick and choose who they want for a job.
