Hello,

My husband and I are thinking about opening a French vegan restaurant In L.A.
The dishes will be authentic but meatless and Dairy free.
How do you feel about it?

Thanks

I used to be one, but quit just because where I live now it's so hard to find somewhere to eat when you're out and about.

I wasn't a strict vegetarian. But no meat for me is pretty much my rule. Can one find veggie-friendly places to eat here on the go? I'm not talking grocery stores, but small cafes and delis and such. Etc.

I want to go back on it, but not if it'll be a challenge. And I'll be in L.A. by summer, so.
That's like asking can you be a crackhead in a crack house!

she/he posted this 2 years ago, but I agree with you. What is the question? I love the statement, it is like asking about being a crackhead in a crackhouse?

Vegetarian is one thing, strict Vegan, I would check closely and see how many there are already in Los Angeles? There may not be a huge demand for too many.

There are more vegans in Los Angeles than anywhere else.

It's easy to be a vegetable in L.A. The streets are full of them!

I am a pot-smoking left-wing vegetarian... no reason to deny it. I mean, my life is great...

I only get sick of the jokes because they're just plain stupid and unfunny. Seriously: I've heard plenty of pothead/liberal jokes that have made me chuckle, but I've never heard a single vegetarian joke that make me want to do anything more than stare blankly or roll my eyes, even long before I was a vegetarian.

Vegetarianism is an eating disorder... liberalism is a brain disease... god made animals out of meat... blah, blah, blah. Whatever makes you weeble-wobbles feel better about yourselves.

Anyways, I was a vegetarian in LA for nearly six years, and found it to be quite easy, even easier than it was in Seattle and a fair deal easier than Boston. There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan restaurants, and it's very easy to find a vegetarian menu option at any taqueria, Thai joint, Chinese restaurant, Indian place, and even at any diner for that matter - most of them also understand that you can't cook a veggie burger in beef fat, either.
