Default Where to live if you work in Irwindale??

Hi there!

Just wondering if anyone can give some advice on this subject. If my husband works in Irwindale, where should we look for a home, with the following parameters:

- We have two boys, 10 and 5, so would be looking for a home with access to great schools (either public or private) and in an area that hopefully would have lots of kids in it

- We'd hope for a decent commute (30 minutes or less, if that's even possible!)

- Our housing budget could stretch up toward $800-$900K if absolutely nessary

- my son plays ice hockey, so in our ideal world we'd live in a community that offered a junior hockey program, but again, I don't even know if this is possible out there

Thank you so much for any input you can offer!!!

can't answer about the Ice Hockey, someone else can I am sure, but I would suggest you look either in the Arcadia school district or Glendora. Glendora will be a little less expensive. One thing and this is not meant to be taken as a prejudise statement at all, Arcadia is majority Chinese I have heard..Glendora is still most white, middle class. Both have outstanding schools...

You might also consider Monrovia it's about 15 min drive to Irwindale, the schools are pretty decent. the price range will fit in your budget.
As for the ice hockey theres a league in Rancho Cucamonga/ Ontario, these being about 30 min +-drive from Monrovia depending on day and time. Long Beach area also has leagues but this will be an hour plus depending on day and traffic.
Hope this helps..

Arcadia, Monrovia and Mayflower Village (an unincorporated area that borders Monrovia and Arcadia and El Monte, but has Monrovia schools) are all great. Arcadia runs about 550-million, Monrovia 450-850, and Mayflower Village 350-700.
