The area seems to be highly influenced by Indian (and other) cultures. Haven't been in that area in quite some time. Interesting photos. Thanks.

I'd say highly influenced by the Persian community.

Love these pics too. The homes are really pretty and have some charm.

No. I follow the signs down to a science... I'm overly paranoid when it comes to parking.
But I figured it would make a good picture to add as part of my LA memorabilia photos.

I'm surprised 100% of all the businesses on that stretch of Westwood don't have Farsi on them by now. I'm surprised it's not officially renamed Little Tehran by now.

Is there such a thing? Persian Jews' roots in Iran go back to biblical times and their culture did not originate in Spain or Portugal.

Some of that writing might be in Urdu which uses the same alphabet. Just as the Iranians too poor to live in Westwood wind up in Palms, the South Asians who can afford something better than Palms might be in Westwood....

Matteo's and Junior's have somehow managed to survive. Since Matteo's is a well known hangout for certain Italian-American gentlemen from the Eastern US I suppose that they'll continue to survive.
