Default Commute from El Monte to Northridge

Hello brand new member here,

The company has shutdown our local office near my home in El Monte and I am forced to work at their Northridge branch in 2 weeks or face layoff.

Should I take:

a) 605N to 210W to 118W

b) 605N to 210W to 134W to 101N to 405N

c) 605N to 210W to 134W to 5N to 118W

d) 10W to 101N to 405N

e) Take the Metrolink

Anyone doing anything similar, which is the quickest least traffic'd way, how is it going home at 5pm, and what time should I leave the house? (By the way 8am is when we open)

Thanks guys.

I'd take metrolink if it ends near your workplace.

Other than that, just make sure you figure on an hour commute.

605 N to 210 to 118 seems best. An alternative is 10 to 5 to 118 as the ride up the 5 is super easy.

Option D is death and by far the worst option. 134 West has issues in the morning.

Home....eh. I guess 210 down to 605.

I would try A and C in that order of preference and see which one you like best. The 210 through La Canada is a nice modern freeway. I don't recall it having a lot of traffic heading northwest through there.

Start looking at Sigalert.com - Personalized Traffic Reports during your potential commute times to get a feel.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. The only thing that can make this to and fro commute worse is getting the shaft at the pump like last year's $4.50 a gallon.
