Default San Fernando Valley

I want any and all information on the San Fernando Valley.
Can you please fill me in on the area ASAP?

The cost of living ( for the Average worker there as I know there are average working families in that area)

The best little towns within the valley or just outside of it.

PHOTOS!!! If you have any photos that you link me to or can paste in here that would be GREAT!

The actually location from the valley to LA
( I would like to be as far from the gang-banging activity as possible. I am not stupid I know that there will be gangs in the valley to.. I just don't want to be in the thick of it)

Again any info would be great and welcomed.

Im in the valley...we can talk about it. I got some pics at home on my computer. I think only a couple though. COL? Well assume for an average, but not so great apartment for one, youre gonna spend $1200 once youre done paying utilities, if not more like $1500. Stay west of the 405 to avoid the highly populated hispanic areas and gangs. If I could pick the best spot, it would be Porter Ranch, then Woodland Hills. The more west you get from the 405 the better.

Any idea where you will work and be spending more of your time?

Work would be in Sylmar Ca.

Do you know anything about this town and its activity?
The best places to live within it or around it with no more then a 20 minute radius?
Thanks

Im in Sylmar now, working. Its an okay area. Lots of hispanics and areas I would avoid just because of the lifestyle. I think north of the 210 freeway and foothill blvd(which runs along the 210) are nice. My college is north of the freeway. As far as this area, you can see ppl riding horses down the street, but are more likely to see stray dogs. I swear, I see a stray dog every day I have class. Its so annoying.
I live in Van Nuys right next to Reseda and it takes me 30mins to get to work. So this would be a bit too far from you. Areas in San Fernando are nice, but once again all hispanic. Most of these areas are.
You can live in Valencia or nearby areas above the SFV, but you will fight traffic on the 5South every morning and 5N every evening.
Sylmar has a lot of business places and industrial type areas, but are generally separated from housing, not always.
Its pretty safe, but like I said, I personally would not like living here.

How far is this from the city of LA?

Is there a town that you would recommend that is north of Sylmar?

From Sylmar, the city of LA should take 20 mins easily. But more than likely it will take over an hour.
A city north of Sylmar...well since its in the mountains, only Santa Clarita Valley is above it. There is Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country, Foothill Ranch. I like Canyon Country myself. Its off the 14 highway, towards Lancaster, but its my personal preference to not be around a highly populated area such as Valencia/Saugus.
What kinda company would you be working at?

Thats a couple blocks from where I work.
That are is okay, but right next to foothill and the 210, so you could live elsewhere and be close to the freeway

Thank you so much for this information.
I really appreciate it. I still have yet to find some good photos of the surrounding areas.. If you have the opportunity and can paste some photos of the surrounding areas, more of the country setting areas with neighborhoods that would be well appreciated.

We dont really have country settings. Its pretty urban. This area and areas around the mountains are going to be as country as you can get.
Check into he cities down the 210 like La Crescenta, Montrose. Suppose to be nice areas, but are pricey
