So, if I was you -- I'd stay put!

Are you talking about Los Angeles, Ca.?? Grafitti infested, over dont see anything of that since years, I think you turn the dial of your TV to the wrong channel....

miracle,
You don't see graffiti in L.A? All you have to do is jump on the 101 and drive south. You'll see plenty. And on the 405, just drive headed towards LAX, and you'll see graffiti, and if you just drive in genreal, you'll see graffiti. People tagging all over the place!

You should walk Los Angeles and not driving so much, try a walk through Ventura at Sherman Oaks or Studio City, try footing on Hermosa Beach, try a walk to a mall in Burbank from an apartment close to the studios, try a bike ride through Westlake Village to Agoura or a day shopping and cafe in Westwood or Beverly Hills, and avoid so much driving around highways. There is other Los Angeles than the highways. I think you are a conmuter and you are losing everything good in between your daily driving way.

We are all commuters here. We have to drive to get to places because its all spread out. If I didnt work and go to school I might be able to do all that you described. A day of shopping in Westwood and B.H. would make anyone that isnt rich, even broker.
Not trying to judge you miracle, but it sounds like your either well off or dont work and get an allowance. Or all?
I see graffitti ALL OVER.

I go to school on weekends. I couldnt. But I agree with what you do. You have to get away otherwise you'll go nuts. When I was a kid my dad use to take me to the beaches up to central cal on weekends, camping in Kern and anywhere out of Los Angeles. A lil different then your idea of trying new things IN L.A., but better than staying inside the house.

Come for a visit, maybe during the winter, but live in Chicago. No comparison! Chicago is beautiful, alive, has more cultural opportunities, and nicer people. FROMCATOGA is right on about L.A. I don't think Miracle is from here, but I am and can confirm what the negative side is here. You can go through life with blinders on I guess, but eventually you will bump into reality and not be prepared. Moving to Ma. in a few months myself.
As far as the"perfect" weather here....in my opinion, it is so boring. Everyday the same thing...no surprises...no beautiful trix colored trees in the fall, just longer shorts and t-shirts instead of tanks. Boring!

Well Chicago has a better skyline and a more lively downtown, but everything else goes to L.A in my opinion, but you should try staying in L.A for a few months to see how it is and if you don't like it,you could always move back to Chicago.
L.A though is building more Skyscrapers and the City is trying to transform downtown to a more exciting place to be :-)
Some People Love L.A and Some people Hate It.
