Does Los Angeles county have an over 65 real estate tax exemption. My brothers and sister and I own our parents (now deceased) home and we are all over 65 now. What real estate tax breaks would we be eligible for if any? Thanks for any info on this matter

AFAIK, none.
We have prop 13, one of the reasons for prop 13 was that seniors were losing their homes due to unstoppable increases in property taxes. Property taxes here are high, but once you get your home they can go up only a reasonable amount each year; they are predictable. You know what your property taxes will be forever(assuming you dont move).

As long as you don't sell the house and it remains in the family you are locked in so to speak. I have 2 friends that inherited family homes and they are happy as can be.

California has or had a property tax postponement option if you meet certain requirements... My understanding is the program is not currently accepting new applications.
