Depends on what you're managing, I reckon.

Crime, while it can happen anywhere, is generally contained to a few areas of the city.

And expensive? Compared to what? Compared to some podunk town, sure...but to NYC? or Boston? or SF? no way.

Pretty Much but theres still plenty of good things. I think murder has gone down but drugs and assaults and violence are still high.

Cleanliness: L.A. is filthy compared to many other large-scale cities. I had a friend visit in Chicago (grew in up in L.A.) and she was stunned at how clean Chicago is compared to L.A.
really that pretty unfortunate is there more to story?
But Chicago has some places that are like old as city itself weathered by age.

Crime, grime: depends where you live. Some places are just fine.

Living expenses: definitely high. Of course, "cheaper" areas have more crime & grime.

Has anyone mentioned how bad the traffic is? =P

Here are some really cool aerial photos of LA's freeway system. You can see the traffic in it. Picture Show: Traffic! | GOOD

Crime?: Whoever tells you that L.A. is a haven of crime probably made this assumption on their own "because it's L.A.", or didn't do ANY research. L.A. is one of the safer cities. Although, I was the victim of a burglary about three months ago... -.- but still...I'm just a statistic, a stroke of bad luck, as I live in one of L.A.'s safer neighborhoods...Although my street IS full of thieves. People's cars gettin' broken into and stuff.

Cleanliness: Yeah lotsa litter depending on where you are, mostly by the freeways.

Overall crime is down, but violent crime is at a 60 year low.

I saw a few articles not too long ago that said crime has been on the low side for a few years now.
