Of course, bike rides. From where you are at there are two I'd particularly recommend. One is of course down the beach path, toward Santa Monica. Another would be working your way on side streets toward Westwood / BH et al. Of course you do need to plan your point of surmounting the 405 or else you'll end up with a stretch of riding behind the sound wall, pretty boring.
