And then there's the people who complain about being broke but have a cellphone with unlimited internet, texts and minutes. Those plans run $100 and up. I miss the old days! Stupid technology!

rent control, section 08, wick or is it wic, food stamps, that is what I have noticed. I am a landlord and that is what I see in my building. And when I am there working I always ask myself: "do any of my tenants work, how come they are all at home and not at work?".

Yes, as a source of entertainment and information, I do believe that a tv is a necessity in the modern age. You actually begrudge people their televisions? You do realize we're talking 60-year-old technology, right? I guess we shouldn't have refrigerators, either? Would an icebox with weekly ice delivery be acceptable to you, or should I just salt or pickle all my food, and keep it in the cellar?

the TV is slowly decaying, I can watch anything I want over the internet, read the news, shows, and it's updated in real time and don't have to wait for the news to come on. I can also listen to any music I want.
So according to your train of thoughts, why aren't you using the telegraph to post on this forum?

what areas could I afford for a decent living? I'd like to live in a safe area, I don't need anything fancy or too big. I could share a 2br apartment or 1br eventually.

I am just curios how people with entry position jobs deal with the high cost of living and little paycheck.

I know it's a general question and LA is huge but maybe there are other people on this board who make little money.

thanks
Good luck with that one. All of your money will probably go towards your rent and utilities with nothing left. L.A and anywhere in CA is not an area to live on $12 an hour. However, having a roomate or two will help.

Of course you can watch via the net, but most of us would like to see something a little larger, not to mention sit in an easy chair or one the couch.
