I heard it was felt strongly in Norwalk but I did not feel it as I was on a bus when it happened. The Epicenter was in Lennox according to the news.

It was ironic. I was at California Adventure earlier today and they were singing the "I love Rock N Roll" song. Weird.

I haven't seen Kate Hutton talk yet.
They frequently revise the magnitude as more information comes in.

Examples:
1994 Northridge, 6.6 revised to 6.7

1987 Whittier, 6.1 revised to 5.9

I was at the movies and it was the best special effect ever! Perfectly timed for the scene too, everyone was pretty confused at first!

I really feel sorry for people who were freaked out by that tiny jolt. If that scared you, a real earthquake will have you packing.

I've grown up here and if it doesn't last longer than 15 seconds it's not a real earthquake. That one was barely strong enough t owake me up if I had been asleep.

The real concern is that we've had several of these jolts in the past year. That's highly unusual. We could be tuning up to a real earthquake.

This was my first "earthquake" here in SoCal having lived here only for a few months. That unnerved me so I can't even imagine what a "real" one would be like!

A friend mentioned the same thing about all the past few jolts that have been happening...maybe something larger in the works for later?? Yikes!!

My feelings exactly..Growing up in California, a 5.0 or less probably would have gotten my attention but that would be all it would have gotten.

It was pretty strong and long at our house - even the front door was rattling in its case. Nothing fell over or got knocked down, though - in a sense, it seemed pretty mild as earthquakes go, but we definitely knew we were close to the center when it happened. It wasn't a rolling sensation at all - more of a bucking bronco sensation, and the jolts seemed to intensify as the quake progressed. It really brought to light the fact that we have to plan out our safety plan for the next one. We really only have the dining and coffee tables to duck under in the whole house.
