Default Seattle to LA (Glendale) commute?

Need some local advise for a 32 year old guy with new Corp job in Glendale. Plan is temp rent 1bd for 6mo. Then move the family. Traffic blows I know, can anyone get me close to my current situation? 15 miles from my office in Seattle with a commute of 30-60 min. Nice suberb area, middle class win low crime. Since I will be living solo a cool area to live in for some after work activity with studio/1bd rent under 1300. You know where I walk down the street and grab a beer without getting jacked or my wheels stolen off my car at night. With a commute under an hour to Glendale. Any thoughts? Thx for looking

Can't you afford to live in Glendale? It has its own police department. You could go north, to Montrose or La Crescenta, too. Sorry, I don't know about any night life, but I'm sure there's some in downtown Glendale.

Eagle Rock, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Glendale itself. They're all close, they're all fairly safe, they all have things to do.

Live in Glendale. Unless for some reason you can't afford it? That doesn't sound likely given your corporate job and small housing requirement.

all your needs are in Glendale . Brand Bl has some places to grab a beer and chill for a few (Jax comes to mind offhand). GUSD (glendale unified school district) is the best in the area for you kidlettes. I would say move to Glendale, you will be right in the middle of things there.
