Default Santa Clarita to Childrens Hospital LA?

I've been focusing my housing search on glendale/burbank/south pasadena. However, I recently found the huge houses in Santa Clarita with mountain views that are cheaper in rent than the other cities. We heard there is a train my husband could take from Santa Clarita to work? He'll be working at CHLA.

I'm figuring it's probably a bad idea... but we have three young kids and the idea of getting a four bedroom house for $2500 is pretty tempting. We can probably go up to about $2800 in rent, but would max out there. $2500 would probably be better...

How long will it take DH to do that? Is it mostly business people on the mass transit at commute times?
