recommendations on places to live in LA county
I'm looking to move to Southern California from Seattle by the end of the year and want some recommendations on places to live in LA county. I'm a 20 year old female looking for a reasonably safe neighborhood that's on the "cheaper" side.
Thanks!

Why are you looking to movie to Southern California?
What line of work are you in?
What about a job?
Budget for housing?

The same standard questions that others will ask you: where are you working? What's your budget? ("cheaper" can be all over the map)
The biggest pressing question, though, is probably where are you working. LA County is a huge sprawling place, and you'll want to, if possible, at least live within reasonable commuting distance from your work.
Other factors: do you drive or take public transportation? What kind of housing are you looking for, or are you flexible? What kind of neighborhood do you prefer, other than reasonably safe? LA and LA county have the whole range of pretty much anything, although of course location and price will be major factors in your final decision.

Ok so here's the deal. My plans on moving to California arent set in stone; so i dont have job plans yet. I'm a certified Physical Therapist Assistant for the time being... I really just want sugestions on places to live if i find a job and decide to move here. I will be visiting my relatives in LA this month and want to check out the neighborhoods that are suggested to me. Budget wise i will be lmoving with a friend so our budget will be $900-$1000 for an apartment. Neighborhood wise i prefer diversity, since thats the environment i grew up in. Transportation... i prefer driving like anyone else but dont mind the bus at all. Hope this helps.....???

I wouldn't move here without a job. If you get a job, move near it.

That's an understatement. I hope she doesn't mind sharing a studio.

good luck, you will need a job before you even think about moving, so will your room mate and you may have to settle on either an area that may not be quite what you want of be happy with 1 bedroom. The diversity part should be easy, but you have to consider safety as well. Prices in the better parts of Los Angeles will be higher than in Seattle.
