imagine what chicago would look like if the cubs were ever to win the world series. that would put anything we've seen here in LA to shame. that will probably never happen though, sorry cubs fans.

I took the train to work today and it was purple and gold all the way. They were waiting for busses, riding trains, decked out in Lakers colors, it was a beautiful thing. The parade used to go by my office near 5th and Fig, now it goes south of me but no matter. I think the whole affair went pretty well.

Somebody sold a lot of Laker jerseys. Those are recession proof.

So would this happen if the Dodgers won the World Series in a few months?
I think it would be great for LA

Official police estimates for the crowds on the streets is about 250,000.
Lets say 100,000 at the stadium too...
= 350,000
Pretty small for a city the size of LA, don'tcha think? Where was everyone at??
The Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup this year. Police estimates for the crowd were 375,000, in a city MUCH smaller than LA.
Someone on the news tonight called LA the "city of champions" ??
Um, yeah, right.
Got two words for you:
Steelers.
Penguins.

We were all at work... if they had the parade on the weekend attendance would have been off the charts.

Pittsburgh also had their parade on a weekday (a work day).
