Default possible relocation to santa fe springs area...!!?????

OK... so hubby's job has the possibility of relocating to santa fe springs .. I KNOW i do not wanna LIVE in santa fe.. but im looking for the best place to live just outside of it... we DO NOT wanna buy right now.. this will not be a permanant move.. we are hoping for a 4 year max.. then up to the corporate chain and in a new position after that... anyway... here is the area of where his place of work could be... so something that is not too far of a commute would be great... we have 3 kids and one almost here in a few weeks.. i am almost certain i am putting my two kids who are in school in a private school... unless i can find a public one that is not terrible... we wanna rent.. and wanna live in a nice area.. and by nice i dont mena estates ect... just i dont want to get shot in my back yard!! LOL...i am familiar with CA living ... i grew up in the IE... BUT.. IE is nothing like LA.. and when i lived there i was more concerned with partying like a rock start.. not a family.. any ifo would be great!!.. i like la mirada ... and la habra.. i think it would be a nice travel distance.. but i am unsure of the area istelf as far as quality of living.. i think 35 mins is the max hubby should commute.. maybe 45... and again.. i need a place i can find a rental in that is not the projects!!
= 0
im all ears.. and any help is great!!!!!
thank you!!!!!!

I would consider Santa Fe Springs over "Anaslime" anyday.

I would also suggest Whittier, Downey, La Mirada, or La Habra, a little bit further and before Anaheim is Fullerton. I wouldn't suggest Norwalk.

Most of the areas around SFS are generally safe, but the safest would have to be Fullerton. Even though it is two cities over.

And depending on what time he's leaving for work and what part of SFS, he could be there in 15min.

East Long Beach. only 15 miles away up the 605.

Great safe suburban area with good schools. Look for zip code 90815. Try El dorado park, college park, or los altos.

I grew up in Whittier and highly recommend it, especially the neighborhoods around the Uptown Whittier area. Otherwise Long Beach is also a great area (especially the neighborhoods around El Dorado Park), but your husband would need to commute on the 605 Freeway, which can get a little hairy sometimes.

DITTO

why not SFS?

if not, do whittier. or downey. except rentals in downey tend to be in apts. downey is very home-owner-occupied. as are the surrounding cities.

these areas are not that bad. pretty community oriented. as for the schools, check the links.

good luck.

What about Cerritos, too? The other suggestions you have gotten are good... I just didn't see anyone recommend Cerritos yet. And check those school performance maps.
