South Gate-Eden Manor (house, middle school, tax)

Hi I live in South Gate, very near South Gate High School. There is a halfway house on the corner of California ave. and Firestone Ave., a few blocks away from the high school and middle school.

This home is called Eden Manor. The residents seem to be mentally ill patients, or even released convicts. They roam the streets at all hours of the day/night. They loiter infront of homes and business. They pester children as they walk home from school.

I researched Eden Manor and it is listed as an Assisted Living Facility and Nursing Home. If that's the case, why are these "patients" roaming the streets? I hate to think that the owners of this facility are committing fraud and collecting from the government our hard-earned tax money!

A couple of years ago, right after Eden Manor was opened, a police officer mentioned to my aunt that as a citizen with rights, she and the neighbors should have spoken up against this facility.

Does anybody know what I am rambling about? If you know anything else about the place, the owners, patients, please share.
