Smile Westlake Village - Northshore

I'm interested in buying a condo in Westlake Village. The Northshore project looks fantastic but I hear they just settled some litigation in the project. If you live in Northshore are you able to share some insight? Thank you!

I can't help with your question but I would like to say that is a great neighborhood. Assuming your legal concerns are addressed, I think you will be quite happy there.

If that is on Northshore Lane near Westlake Boulevard then it is not in Westlake Village (Los Angeles County). It is in Thousand Oaks which is in Ventura County. The county line bisects the lake. If it is in Ventura County it is Thousand Oaks; if it is in Los Angeles County then it is Westlake Village.

May make a difference when researching legal documents and data.

Try the Ventura County Star, and the Thousand Oaks Acorn as news sources to search from.

To add what Charles said, if in doubt, try the property address here

Parcel Viewer if it is here, it is LA County (you enter the number and street only in the address field)

WebTax if it is here, it is in Ventura County.

Technically, what Charles said is correct, "Westlake Village" is LA County. However, Ventura County recognizes that end of Thousand Oaks as a community named "Westlake Village". All the locals refer to it all as Westlake Village.

Thank you! My realtor told me about the distinction but I had forgotten. I appreciate the suggestions!
