Need suggestions on areas to live near NW Culver City
Hi all,
I may have a job soon in the area NW of Culver City (I think it's called Washington Culver). Can anyone suggest areas to live nearby for a young, single professional? Thanks!

there are plenty of areas that would fit what you are looking depending on your budget and specific interests.

i am a single young professional and i live in the palms area (directly north of CC). I've only been here for about a month. it's going okay.. the traffic and congestion is kinda weird here though.
Takes some time to get used to it. For what it's worth I used to live in Torrance (for 3 years), Santa Barbara, and Chatsworth area. I've felt the most claustrophobic living in Palms than any of those cities I just listed.

I would be renting, and would be able to pay $1000-$1500/month.

Another thing is I have 2 pit bulls, and ideally would like to have a yard of some sort for them to play in and do their business. Would this be impossible?

Yes, on only 1000-1500 a month, quite impossible. You'd be lucky to get a little studio apt. for that, especially on the westside.

Palms! Palms! Palms! The answer to every Westside "where should I live near...?" question because its the most affordable and centrally located to pretty much every other Westside neighborhood

Palms is also perhaps the ugliest and most bland neighborhood on the Westside. All of those terrible 70's apartments and aside from a few buses, one of the most poorly served areas from a transit perspective; factor in the terribly congested streets (and freeways, too) that the Westside is known for..yuck.
Simply put: Palms is devoid of any real beauty or merit.
