What's the best way to get up to Griffith Observatory w/o a car?

Is there a shuttle or anything like that that leaves from Hollywood?

It's a really nice hike if you want to go that route...

There's a shuttle from Vermont/Sunset metro station on weekends:
Griffith Observatory - Visitor Access & Reservations

They used to have shuttles from Hollywood, but I think that was only for the initial reopening rush.

If you don't go on the weekends when LADOT operates the shuttle up, then you might consider having a taxi cab meet you at a the Vermont/Sunset Metro Rail station (call ahead) or just hail a cab in Hollywood and ask them to take you up. Its not easy to have regular public transportation up such a tall mountain.
