Default cost of utilities

Hi everyone. I am deciding between two studios in Sherman Oaks south of Ventura. One has utilities included in the rent and the other does not. I was just wondering what I would approximately be paying per month for utilities if I choose to rent from the studio that does not include utilities.

What's the difference in price between the two places?

i actually have 3 choices:
1 studio is $895 per month which includes utilities
1 studio is $995 per month which includes utilities (and also in the same apartment complex as the one above)
1 is $955 per month and that does not include utilities

Assuming that "utilities" is electricity/gas/water/trash, I wouldn't expect you to be paying more than $50-$60/month (that's what I pay for a 1BR apartment), unless you use the A/C a lot. So the $955 + utilities will effectively cost you closer to $1,000/month, or just about the same as the higher-priced studio at the other location. [I'm guessing that the $895/month apartment is either smaller or in a less-desirable part of the complex than the other one?]

Wow, utilities are cheap here then! Is that not running the AC period, or just regulating it at say, 75 degrees or higher? Just curious, as this has been on my mind out here as well, considering that apts start around 1600 where I'm looking.
