Visiting LA
Hey everyone. We - my family and I - are going to come visit LA late September, early October. Sept 28 - Oct 2. So I wondering, what is weather like at that time? What kind of clothes should we bring? Also, about food, we are all vegetarian, so how much would food cost? We were thinking 10 dollars per person per meal. That includes the food and something to drink. Is 10 dollars reasonable? Thank you!

the weather will still be very nice that time of year. depending on the part of town you're in, highs will most likely range from 75-85. Overnight lows will probably be int he 60-70 range, so you can probably wear shorts and sandals throughout your trip. as for food, $10 per person per meal is a bit on the low side, even for breakfast and lunch. Dinner will certainly be more unless you eat BRC burritos every night.

$10 per meal is reasonable if you're not eating at a place with table service, but you will have problems with that price if you're thinking sit-down.

You might want to kick it up to $11 per meal.

If you don't have kids and enjoy partaking in a few drinks, hit happy hour at the Saddle Ranch on Sunset. Great drinks, great prices, friendly staff, and an overall good time. If you get brave (or just a little intoxicated), you can even ride the bull. I highly recommend this fine establishment!

we don't need table service. if there is no park near by, i guess there is always the car. hmm. do you mean sidewalk food stands? do they have vegetarian food? the food stands generally don't.

this is LA, of course there are vegetarian fast food options. Also, the beach should still be very nice weather wise. the water may be starting to a bit chilly (it's never really warm), but it should definitely be warm enough to hang out on the sand for a while.

If you're vegan you may a more difficult time (certainly easily doable) but vegetarians will have absolutely no problems (I'm one). Besides the small local places (or the fruit stands in some neighborhoods) even the fast food standby In-n-Out Burger has a grilled cheese with tomato and onion (it's listed on their "secret" menu).
