Fullerton to Dodger Stadium...
I've recently become a big baseball fan. I live 7 miles from Anaheim Stadium but hate the Angels. I'd like to catch more Dodger games, but the drive pisses me off and makes me not want to go.
I know nothing of the public transportation system in LA. I live in Fullerton and I know we have a metro link station here... is it possible to get to Dodger Stadium on the metro link? Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Driving to Dodger Stadium is the reason I dont' go anymore. I even wimped out last June while in LA on vacation. Just too much hassle.
Hitch a ride with Tommy Lasorda, be probably still attends a lot of games. He has lived in Fullerton forever.

You can use public transportation if you pick the baseball games that are in the afternoon like the 1:10 PM Sunday games or some of the games that are around noon, etc.... The usual 7:10 PM games will probably require you to sometimes need to leave early to catch the last train back to Fullerton of the night: Amtrak 796 departing Union Station at 10:10 PM and arriving in Fullerton Station at 10:40 PM. You can use both Metrolink or Amtrak to get back to Fullerton and you will find Amtrak trains operate more in the afternoon and late evenings than Metrolink which is designed for peak commute times. Here is the Metrolink and Amtrak tickets on one schedule: Metrolink :: Oxnard-LA-Oceanside Weekend. Trains with an "A" in front of the number are Amtrak, everything else is Metrolink. Book tickets with the respective operator of the train.Once at Union Station you can catch the Metro Bus 2, 302, 704, or 4 west bound and get off at Elysian Park Ave/ Sunset intersection. Walk about 1000 feet (roughly .2 miles) to the entrance gates to Dodger Stadium. Go to metro.net and check timetables for these routes. Frequency is ten minutes or less with all these routes put together.

missionhome perfectly described the OP's transportation options - take the train from fullerton to union station, followed by a bus to the stadium.
last year, the dodgers actually offered free shuttle bus service (a.k.a. the "dodger trolley") between union station and dodger stadium on game days. unfortunately, they did not renew this service for 2009 despite the fact that it was very popular. basically, the city couldn't come up with the funding or sponsors to pay for the service, while the dodgers balked at covering the cost themselves.

too bad. it seems to me that the dodgers should pay for the shuttle bus service (or get some of their sponsors to help out), or perhaps tack on a small surcharge to each ticket. considering that the shuttle would cost between $500K-$650K for the season, and that the dodgers are well on their way to drawing 3 million fans once again, the surcharge would be well under $1 per ticket.

And wait until after they beat the Angels in the World Series this year. Who is paying for the parade? (Have you checked the standings lately? It's a good time to be a LA sports fan. Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, and up next USC).

a freeway world series would sure be something. if it happens, and if the dodgers do in fact win a championship this year, it'll be interesting to see how the city's reaction compares with the lakers' title from last month. my guess is that it would eclipse the laker celebrations (even the one in 2000) because the dodgers have gone over 20 years since their last title.
and in the process, it'll renew the debate about which team is really #1 in the hearts of angelenos.
now imagine if LA can finally land an nfl team one of these days?

The only real Dodgers Stadium was Ebbets Field in Brooklyn!
