Well,

Yes I know this is another one of these L.A. threads but since I'm in a really good mood now, I thought I might start this thread about one thing we love about L.A. This is actually my adopted home city as I was not born here but I came here a long time ago. For me the one thing I appreciate the most about L.A. is the wide variety of food to eat here. So, let's get started with one thing you love about L.A.

A hike on a clear day in either Griffith Park or farther west in Temescal Canyon in the Pacific Palisades.

To be honest - I like the fact that the city is not boring. There is ALWAYS something for me to do to fit my mood.

Hands-fricken-down: the people. After months, no, years of being told that people in L.A, were rude, I was floored at how welcoming they were. On the day I arrived, a friend of a friend that I had never met picked me up from the airport, said "oh I hope you don't mind but we're going to a party in the Hills tonight." Then she slept on the couch for a week and gave me her bed. That evening we were getting my cases out of her trunk when a man jogged past with his dog, waved and said good evening, then turned back, said, "hey, let me get those for you", took my cases up two flights of stairs to her apartment, said "have a good night" and jogged on. I have so many little stories like that.
Maybe it's because I've lived in Paris and London that my standards of 'welcoming' are very, very low! lol!

Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles for fresh produce and a wide variety of spicy ethnic foods from all over the globe.

Randy Newman's song "I Love L.A." sums it up perfectly for me.

(Especially when the mountains have snow on them.)
