Topped out at 109 here today, with the relative humidity a crackling 5% and a dew point of 22 degrees.

Invigorating. Bring on the Santa Anas.

It got up to 105F where I am and it has been a while since I've had to deal with temperatures like that. But it is summer and summer should be hot.

For most of this summer to date, western Washington has been warmer than what it has been in SoCal. Until this week, I guess. I've lived in the South Puget Sound for nine years now and that heatwave (temperatures n the high 80's to low 100's) we had this year was pretty miserable, especially since I don't have air conditioning in the house except in my bedroom (wall unit). Usually we might get two days in the low 90's for the entire summer. Otherwise, it is mostly in the 70's. This was after we had record snowfall in the winter, so go figure. A strange year for weather.

You must not be including the inland valleys and high deserts in your So Cal.

You guys are lucky the humidity's low out there. Have you ever felt 90 degrees with 90% humidity and no wind??? Feels like your swimming in hot sludge and you sweat buckets the second you step outside.

True. I was thinking mostly the L.A. basin and Orange County.

It was 105 in West Covina yesterday.

There is a fire at the La Canada Flintridge now.
