Here is an interesting video of time lapse photography of the smoke yesterday:

Cyn, I'm so sorry to hear about your house that was lost. I saw in another thread that you weren't living in it, but that doesn't take away from the many years that you did.

Great photos, Lumerian! Thanks so much for sharing those. Yes, I think I remember reading something about back fires being set in La Crescenta.

True, I have been seperated but that house is where I had my children and raised them. My heart will always be there--many good memories. I left all my family heirlooms etc for my children to one day have. They are gone now. In a way I sort of grew up there--I was very young when I married and moved there plus I started my adult life there. I lived there for 17 years. My X-husband and I built a lot of that house together. My friends still lived in that small neighborhood way up in the forrest. I may have not been there at the time this fire went through but my heart was.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or what but I've been really sick the past two days. Very head-achey and nauseated. I don't know if it's from the smoke and the smell or whether it's a coincidence.
I know that's a pretty petty complaint compared to people who have lost their homes. Or the firefighters who lost their lives.
It's all just pretty upsetting.

What a sad time for you. At least you were not there and are safe.

We lived in Altadena in the early 70s but we were not against the mountains, we were closer to the Pasadena border, we lived on New York Drive. In the late 70s we lived in the foothills of Glendora. I can remember a couple of fires in the late 70s just north of Duarte/Monrovia.
