Has anyone stayed at any hotels in Studio City? What is the area like?
I'm looking for a nice, reasonably priced hotel preferably on or near Ventura blvd. I've searched and searched and have only found 2 places. One is too pricey and the other is questionable.
Thanks.

I can't think of anything off hand here in Studio City. Try expanding your search to Universal Studios and I think you'll have better luck.

Studio City is affluent suburbia but still fairly hip for the Valley. There are nice quiet neighborhoods and condos full of younger people. Lots of boutique type shops and restaurants and Hollywood is just over the hill.

Studio City doesn't have much by the way of hotels. Look into Universal or Burbank.

Sportsman's is tolerable but worn, and has crummy parking. But the location is ideal.

Thanks, stuffavail... I think that's where I will be staying.
I am looking forward to visiting the area and venturing out.
Hopefully, it will be cooler in October.

Hopefully it won't be on fire anyway

Don't count on it being cooler. The Santa Anas have a tendency to kick up in the fall and it's hot and dry. My least favorite time in these parts.

Hope you have a great visit and if you are looking for cool stuff to do just ask!
