Do you already have a location where you will be staying? If so, people may be able to help on things around that area. It is a very large area and you may have to consider travel time to all these places.

For me, I enjoy the beaches. I might also consider a boat ride out to one of the channel islands.

Do you scuba? Bicycle? Kayak? Hike?

L.A. is so large and there are many many things to take up your time with. What specific city will your hotel accommodations be? That would help me make some suggestions.

I relo'd to Arizona back in 1993, but we always make a stop for Shakeys Pizza Pub, numerous locations since forever.
Thes one right by LAX to make it your first stop.

King Taco has the best Carne Asada Burritos,(rollo on the side, cuz its hot stuff)

When in East L.A. Also visit the famous El Gallo Bakery for mexican ponderia.
People line up around the corner on Thanksgiving and other holidays for their delicious dinner rolls.
I order the "Planchados" because there is nowhere else I have ever found them.
