Default The Oaks of Calabasas

I passed on Emerald Bay. The house backed up to the PCH. Too noisy. Also passed on Ritz Cove. Read threads on here and had concerns about Dana Point. Did research on Calabasas. Was wondering if anyone had first hand knowledge about the Oaks of Calabasas? Is it as hot as the rest of Calabasas, since I heard it backs up to Malibu? Are there ocean breezes up there? Also what kind of neighborhood is the Oaks? Is it near bad areas? Will be touring the home I selected next week, so all info you could give me would help greatly. I choose that area because of access to the city but not in the city. My only concern is whether it is too hot and smog and are the people friendly. Just relocated from the South and love hospitality. Thanks for responding.

I'm not familiar with that particular area of Calabasas, but reading your thread made me think of Racho Palos Verdes. Have you looked there?

I provide computer services to this gated community, and know it quite well. The oaks is beautiful, very upscale the higher you go on the hill the more celebs you might meet . Keep in mind, that if you choose to live close to them you will "enjoy" some paparazzi activity. it is not as hot, very cool afternoons, however when we have Santa an conditions it is hot like everywhere else. If you can afford a house there, you can afford 24/7 A/C.
As for location, no, no bad places around, not in a 10-15 mile range, until you hit Van-Nuys and it's hoods. Down the hill you have teh commence, a beuatiful shopping center with multiplex cinemas. if you want to travel south you will spend time in traffic, a lots of it. bottom line, if i could afford it, I would buy a house there, and, you need cash dude, they will not talk to you without it :-).
