Hello,

I am considering moving from Santa Monica (Ocean Park/4th) to Westwood Village. I currently work at City Hall in Santa Monica. The Santa Monica BBB line 1 schedule suggests the ride should take about 35 minutes from Le Conte/Tiverton in WW Village to Main/Bay in SM.

I've had plenty of people tell me, 'That sounds about right' to 'No way! Try 45 minutes. Minimum!', so your gut feeling isn't helpful here.

I'm looking for someone who actually rides this route. If you have experience doing this, I'd like to hear what you have to say!

Thanks in advance,

rg

in addition to the BBB #1, you've also got the #2, the #3, and the #8, as well as the metro 720. go to www.metro.net and type your beginning and ending points as well as times and it will give you a pretty good idea as to your options and times.

35 mins is right. I use to do this back in the day, sometimes 45 i'd say give yourself an hour to be safe. But 35 is average.

Any bus going on Westwood Blvd and towards the 405 onramps you can expect to add an extra 10-20 minutes to the bus ride during rush hour. I use to commute BBB1 between UCLA and SMB/26th and non traffic gets there in under 20 minutes. Rush hour would be nearing 40 minutes plus.

The Metro 720 should generally be the fastest because it makes the fewest stops, but until the rush hour bus lanes open it too will get stuck in traffic.
