Default Murrieta to USC

Hey guys I just had a quick transportation question. Im trying to check out the campus of USC but I have no way of getting there other than taking the bus. What bus should I take and at what time would be my best bet to getting to USC from Murrieta?
Thank you

There's a commuter train that runs from the IE to dowtown LA. Now all you have to figure out is how to get to/from each train station. I hope you have a few hours to spare each direction.

You have three options but you'll have to look up the schedules. Riverside Transit has buses to MetroLink stations in Oceanside, Corona and Riverside. All three take about an hour. Of the three I'd dismiss Corona, since that line involves a train transfer in Orange, meaning more waiting.

The other two lines, Oceanside and Riverside, are pretty well sync'd with the train schedules for commuter hours, so there's not too bad a wait for the train once you debark from the bus. Maybe only 10-15 minutes. From Oceanside it's about 2 hours by train to Union Station in downtown LA. From Riverside it's about 1 1/2 hours. One benefit of the Oceanside Transit Center is there's places to hang out and it's on the shoreline, so if you miss the train you have something to do to fill the time. Also, the bus getting to and from Oceanside has WiFi to pass the commuting time.

From downtown LA there are local buses that can take you to USC any number of ways.
