Default Top 3 best movies that you have ever seen and why?

What are the best 3 movies that you have ever seen and why?(the why part is optional)

#1. Broke Back Mountain (really got choked up and cried, why oh why couldn't they have lived their lives together?, it was more moving than sad to me, I can see why that movie won awards)
#2. Home Alone II-Lost in New York
#3. Face Off (with John Travolta)

Why is this in the LA Forum and not in the CD Movies forum?

http://www.city-data.com/forum/movies/

But here goes:

1. Apollo 13: For once engineers are heroes
2. The Godfather: Just a really high quality film
3. The Weather Man: I can relate (It's a midlife crisis movie and I'm on my sixth midlife crisis, and fourth Seven Year Itch - and I had my first Seven Year Itch six years and 51 weeks early.)
4. American Beauty: I can relate
5. Patton: Another really good film
6. A Streetcar Named Desire

Like Charles said, what does this have to do with Ca but here are mine anyway:

The Graduate: just plain funny plus an interesting story. One of the first to address issues normally kept in the closet.

Sound of Music: Heart warming, based on a true family and the music has to among many peoples favorite.

Fatal Attraction: drama, interesting story and serves to prove to those who cheat: you will get yours..Only kdding of course..

1. Aliens-because I love Sigourney Weaver and the way she kicks *butt* in the movie!

2. The Hours-Because I love period piece movies and Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and the whole cast for that matter.

3. All About Eve-love, Love, LOVE Bette Davis and, once again, a great ensemble cast!

1. Class of 1984- The ultimate in "gangs of the future" type movies. I saw this in 1985 when I was 9 and have the DVD now, still watch it often and even wrote a punk song about the film.

2. One Flew Over the Cucoos Nest- Just an amazing film.

3. Halloween- This was a benchmark for the Horror genre and helped spawn Jamie Lee's career. The theme song in instantly recognizable and it was shot beautifully.

-----I have to add a bonus 4th favorite-----

4. Dumb & Dumber- This movie is so witty and stupid, I love it!
