DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
But yes, I did have a blast at Raging Waters

and normally you do have more than one choice of towns in an area as big as San Gabriel Valley unless you are living with mom and dad. If so, be thankful you have a roof over your head, if not, try some other town near San Dimas.

why boring?
Hi Bellino:
Besides Raging Waters there is:
Frank G. Bonelli swim park (Puddingstone reservoir)
hiking trails nearby the park
horseback riding
Plus, La Verne, Claremont and Pomona are not far away, and they are all college towns.
Try walking down Mission Blvd. in Pomona at 11:00pm on any night of the week. You'll be happy when you return to San Dimas because it is so "boring".

I was thinking the exact same thing Loved those movies! SD seemed pretty cool in the Bill & Ted flicks.

You've got plenty of places to go to in Southern California. I lived in Baldwin Park. That place is not considered "the place to be" by any stretch. But we'd hop in my car and go to LA, Hollywood, the beach areas, Ontario, Orange County..... the list goes on and on.
You could do much worse than San Dimas.
I hear San Dimas High School football rules. Check it out some time.

But it's probably not a place for a young person! And I'm assuming that's the case with the OP. San Dimas is a nice, safe place for a family....and probably not that exciting for a young single person.

yeah, I plan on moving at the end of the school year- No one is up for hanging out around here. I tried to befriend a lot of people out here and they either don't write back, have ulterior motives, etc. etc. etc.
I guess I am just a fish out of water

If you are going to Cal Poly and are having problems with nothing to do, it sounds like you do need to find something else. If you are at SAC the same. A college student should never be bored. Now, if you are still in high school that is something different. Even then, making friends and having something to do is more up to you than anyone. What would you consider a fun place? What kind of activities do you not have in San Dimas or the surrounding areas that would be fun for you?
Nita
wow, just looked at your bio, you are working on your masters and have lived in Long Beach and Fullerton. I don't quite understand why you are having such a problem? There are so many things to do and you are old enough to do all of them..I thought you were probably from the east coast or maybe Chic, some huge city...

I lived in San Dimas for 4 years. I don't see anything wrong with it if quiet, stable, somewhat scenic, and clean is the type of place you like. If you consider those attributes to be negative, then there are any number of vacancies available in such top shelf towns like Bell Gardens, El Monte, or La Puente that will definitely get your....er...excitement level elevated. And then there's always the West Side. If you don't mind paying 2 grand a month for the "prividlege" of residing in a 500 sq foot hovel. But hey. It's "hip", it's "progressive", it's "diverse". You won't be bored. So that's just the price you have to pay.
The proverbial grass isn't always greener you know.
Though I was in mourning for ages when the old Levitz sign was felled. When you saw that towering blue and pink neon, you knew you were home. You'd have to live, or have lived, in San Dimas to understand why this sign was so significant. (see below for before and after pictures)
And FWIW, many a San Dimas teen has lost their virginity in and above San Dimas Canyon park.
AND.....San Dimas is home to one of SoCals finest rustic barbecue steak houses. There aren't many things I miss about SoCal, but this is definitely one of them.

Who said I am in college?? Got my masters years ago- I moved because I was a fool in love- now I'm just a fool....
San Dimas is great- but not when you're single and don't know very many people. At least not for me!
